Psychology
tutoring.

Psychology marks come down to how well students can structure a response. The content is interesting, but most students lose marks on the wording, not the knowledge. Our tutors help students write the way QCAA examiners want to see, and make every study session count toward something specific.

Examples we work through

WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Four snapshots of the kind of questions we drill, and the bit students usually miss until someone walks them through it.

Concept

Explain why a heavier object and a lighter object hit the ground at the same time when dropped in a vacuum.

How we coach it

Pulling apart 'mass' vs 'weight' properly. Most students recite the answer but can't explain it under cross-examination. We drill the reasoning.

Data analysis · IA

Interpret a titration curve showing two equivalence points. Identify the indicator that best matches the second equivalence pH.

How we coach it

Reading the graph carefully and matching pKₐ to the equivalence pH. We rehearse the writing, the marks are in the justification, not the number.

Application

A standard solution of 0.1 M HCl is diluted from 1 M. Describe the method and the calculations.

How we coach it

The exact method matters. We walk through the dilution equation, then the safety + accuracy reasoning that picks up the extra marks.

Extended response

Compare two experimental designs for measuring reaction rate. Justify which is more reliable and which is more valid.

How we coach it

Reliability vs validity is where students lose marks. We map every justification to a QCAA criterion before the student writes a word.

The Pythora approach

HOW WE LIFT YOUR RESULT

Find the gaps

A quick diagnostic shows exactly which topics are shaky, so no time is wasted.

Build, then stretch

Lock in the fundamentals, then push into the harder modelling and exam questions.

Exam-ready

Past-paper drills and timing practice so the external feels familiar, not scary.

Outcomes

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

  • Sharper extended response writing
  • Confidence under exam time pressure
  • Real understanding of psychological reasoning

Amrita used to leave Psychology till the night before and panic. Now she chips away at it through the week, and the stress is honestly gone.

Yes. We work through internal assessment tasks, then drill past papers and exam strategy in the lead-up to the external.

Year 11 & 12. We also cover the prerequisites that feed in.
