Copyright & Acceptable Use
Version 1.0 · Last updated 13 June 2026
This policy covers who owns the work students upload, the limited licence you give us to process it, what you may and may not upload, and how to report content. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Your work stays yours
When a student uploads work — essays, assignments, practice answers, photos of handwritten responses — that work remains the property of the student. Pythora does not claim ownership of student work.
2. The licence you give us
By uploading work, you grant Pythora a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, and display that work for the purpose of providing the service: marking, generating feedback and summaries (including via AI processing), and sharing it with the matched tutor and the parent on the account. This licence exists only to run the service and ends when the work is deleted.
3. Pythora’s materials
Our website, branding, worksheets, summaries, and other materials are owned by Pythora or licensed to us. You may use materials provided to your student for personal study only. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish them without our written permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else’s copyright, contains another person’s private information without consent, or is harmful, abusive, or inappropriate. You agree not to misuse the platform, attempt to access other users’ data, or use the service to cheat in a way that breaches your school’s academic-integrity rules. Tutoring is support for learning, not a service for completing assessable work on a student’s behalf.
5. Prohibited content
Do not upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, or that identifies or targets another person without their consent. We may remove any content that breaches this policy and may suspend accounts responsible for it.
6. Takedown procedure
If you believe content on Pythora infringes your copyright or has been uploaded without your consent, email copyright@pythoraacademy.com with a description of the content, where it appears, and your contact details. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the content promptly.
7. Responsibility
You are responsible for the content you upload and confirm you have the right to upload it. Pythora is not liable for user-uploaded content but will act on valid takedown or safety reports.
