Examples we work through

WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Four snapshots of the kind of questions we drill, and the bit students usually miss until someone walks them through it.

Source analysis

Evaluate the reliability of a primary source about a historical event. Identify perspective, purpose and audience.

How we coach it

Sourcing is a skill, not an opinion. We use the QCAA framework, perspective, motive, intended audience, every single time.

Extended response

Argue whether the actions of one historical figure changed the trajectory of a movement, with evidence from at least three sources.

How we coach it

A real argument has a counter. We build the case, build the rebuttal, then resolve, the structure that earns the higher bands.

Comparative

Compare two interpretations of a contested event. Explain how perspective shapes each historian's argument.

How we coach it

Historiography sounds intimidating, it isn't. We frame it as 'who is telling the story, and what do they want you to believe?'

Exam writing

Plan and write a 600-word source-based argument in 70 minutes under exam conditions.

How we coach it

Practising under the clock until the structure (intro, three argument paragraphs, integrated evidence, sharp conclusion) becomes automatic.

The Pythora approach

HOW WE LIFT YOUR RESULT

Find the gaps

A quick diagnostic shows exactly which topics are shaky, so no time is wasted.

Build, then stretch

Lock in the fundamentals, then push into the harder modelling and exam questions.

Exam-ready

Past-paper drills and timing practice so the external feels familiar, not scary.

Outcomes

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

  • Reliable case knowledge for any exam question
  • Structured legal argument writing
  • Strong performance in the external assessment

Amrita used to leave Legal Studies till the night before and panic. Now she chips away at it through the week, and the stress is honestly gone.
