Economics
tutoring.

Junior Economics is a small part of HASS but a strong launchpad for senior Economics or Business. Our tutors help students understand how markets, money and government decisions actually work in Australia, so the content connects to real life and the assessments feel manageable.

Foundations for the senior pathway

Examples we work through

WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Four snapshots of the kind of questions we drill, and the bit students usually miss until someone walks them through it.

Foundations

A pizza is cut into 8 equal slices. Maya eats 3, Sam eats ¼ of the whole. Who ate more, and by how much?

How we coach it

Building the bridge between fractions of the same whole, the same denominator, and decimal equivalence. We use diagrams every single time.

Word problem

A train leaves the station at 9:14 and arrives 1 h 47 min later. What time does it arrive?

How we coach it

Time arithmetic trips students up because they slip into pure decimal. We teach the column method specifically for hours and minutes.

Extension

A jar contains 6 red and 4 blue marbles. What is the probability of drawing 2 reds in a row without replacement?

How we coach it

The "without replacement" twist is exactly the kind of question that previews senior probability. We do the tree-diagram method explicitly.

Real-world

A phone plan costs $40 a month + $0.20 per GB over 5 GB. Plot the cost vs GB used for 0–10 GB.

How we coach it

Linking algebra to a real plan parents recognise, the diagram and the linear function side-by-side make the structure click.

The Pythora approach

HOW WE LIFT YOUR RESULT

Find the gaps

A quick diagnostic shows exactly which topics are shaky, so no time is wasted.

Build, then stretch

Lock in the fundamentals, then push into the harder modelling and exam questions.

Exam-ready

Past-paper drills and timing practice so the external feels familiar, not scary.

Outcomes

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

Amrita used to leave Economics till the night before and panic. Now she chips away at it through the week, and the stress is honestly gone.

Wasn't sure online would click for Frankie, but he logs on himself now and actually likes his tutor. Didn't expect that.

Mia asked to book an extra session before her Economics test. She never used to care, so that threw me a bit.

Good questions

ECONOMICS, ANSWERED

A tutor who recently aced the QCAA pathway that Economics feeds into. They know the senior subjects you're heading toward and how to build the foundations now.

Absolutely. Every junior session keeps the senior pathway in view, so the skills we teach now build through Years 11 and 12.

Year 7 to 10. We also cover the prerequisites that feed in.

60 minutes private, over Google Meet. The tutor brings a plan; we adapt to what the student walks in with on the day.

Yes. Standalone marking is $50 a draft, returned inside 48 hours with QCAA-criteria comments.

Tell us about the student in our 60-second form. A real coordinator reads it and replies inside 24 hours with the shortlist.
